Cartagena’s Rosario Islands: Oceanarium & Snorkeling Boat Tour
Experience a full-day speedboat adventure to the Rosario Islands, featuring visits to the historic San Fernando Fort, the Oceanarium, vibrant coral reefs at Marina Island, a beach club on Grande Island for lunch, and panoramic views of Barú and Pablo Escobar's former mansion.
Itinerary:
The tour operates from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, starting in Cartagena. It includes a visit to San Fernando Fort on Tierra Bomba Island (30 mins), a scenic sail-by of Barú Island (10 mins), a snorkeling session in a vibrant lagoon filled with tropical fish (1 hr), a viewing of Pablo Escobar's former estate (10 mins), a leisurely lunch stop at a beach club (2 hrs), and a final visit to either Islabela Island or the Oceanarium (2 hrs) — PLEASE READ NOTES.
NOTES: The Oceanarium stop is OPTIONAL and requires a separate entrance fee of 40,000 COP, which is why we offer Islabela Island as a complimentary alternative. The boat will dock at the Oceanarium regardless, and you may decide on the day whether to visit or stay aboard.
Boat rides can be bumpy and MAY not be suitable for infants, elderly guests, those with injuries, or pregnant travelers; please book at your own discretion. A mandatory, cash-only tourist port tax of 29,000 COP must be paid in person at the pier. Please arrive on time. Be prepared for possible rain and bring swimwear. We reserve the right to cancel or adjust stops based on weather conditions. We do not provide pickups.

We took the snorkel/leisure tour. It was very beautiful and calm on all the islands. The snorkeling was about 35 minutes just off one of the islands. Lunch is at the last stop so we had a little snack at each stop along the way. Miguel was a great guide and extremely helpful explaining things and answering any questions.

It was GREAT!! The price is good for what you get, lunch is included also. The food was good, they give you 3 options whole fried black snapper, chicken, or vegetarian. You could buy more food and alcoholic drinks if you want. It’s is a must do 10 out of 10. I recommend booking on the weekend. I came during the week (Wednesday) and still had a bunch of fun, but the guides said the weekends (Friday and Saturday) are the best.
